Sydenham Fall Trail Race

Sydenham Fall Trail Race 10/21, Sydenham Lake, Canada

The Sydenham Fall Trail Race took place on Sunday, October 18, 2009 and was a tremendous success. A record number of 250 participants competed in the 8km trail race along the north shore of Sydenham Lake on the beautiful Cataraqui Trail. The weather was perfect and the fall colours were at their peak.

Defending woman’s champion Jodi Wendland of Kingston had the performance of the day breaking her own course record by 5 seconds in winning the woman’s race in a time of 30:45. Margarita Sviajini of Kingston finished second in a time of 32:47, followed by Nancy Coke of Ottawa in third in 33:49.

2008 men’s champion Paul Chafe of Toronto also successfully defended his title winning the men’s race in a time of 26:52. Chafe was followed by Rick Hellard of Ottawa in 28:31 and Clive Morgan of Yarker in 30:22.
